It is with great sadness that we share with you the passing of Marc Chimento, the owner of Hy-Tech Property Services in Virginia. Marc lost his battle with brain cancer on May 30th. He is survived by his wife, Michelle and young son Brogan and mother, Shirley Apperson.  Marc and Michelle have been a part of the 1-800-SWEEPER organization from inception as well as being an integral part of the Richmond, VA market.

In addition to running his sweeping business, which Marc started in 1985 with his mother –  he also owned Ameila Motor Raceway. Marc cared deeply for his family, friends, employees and customers. He was a big man, in his presence and in his compassion and charity. We will miss him and will honor him through the continued success of his business and his charitable nature. Among other charitable endeavors, Marc founded and supported the Christmas Train, a charitable organization that collects and assembles hundreds of bikes for the Amelia County Christmas each year, local police, fire and rescue departments as well as the Susan G. Koman for the Cure and St. Jude’s Hospital.

As his obituary noted: “Marc, at his core, had an extraordinary spirit of giving that touched countless people on a daily basis including approximately 200 valued employees and their families.” A video tribute to Marc can be viewed online: https://youtu.be/uQ4mbMRu95o

1-800-SWEEPER made a donation to the Cullather Brain Tumor Center in his memory as well as sent Michelle a memory stone for their office landscape.  Please keep Marc’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
